Content Strategy & Acquisitions Manager
We are seeking a Content Strategy & Acquisitions Manager to lead our online digital media Content Strategy & Acquisition efforts – creating, executing, and delivering acquisition strategies and targets suitable for our audience. This includes forging and owning key significant content partnership relationships for SpiritClips.com, acquiring media content for our online, VOD, mobile and streaming-to-TV platforms, and building, and maintaining relationships with key media suppliers.
Core responsibilities encompass global content acquisition strategy, setting related acquisition targets and handling and supervising the execution and delivery, self-managing the global Content Strategy & Acquisition efforts to achieve individual targets, close content partnerships and deals, develop sales materials and presentations, cultivate long-term relationships with content suppliers. In addition, the Content Strategy and Acquisition manager will source, maintain and own the high-level priority content partnerships for SpiritClips.com.
Candidate Requirements:
- Relationship-oriented and strategically minded
- Results-oriented; ‘hands-on’ manager, and a deal closer with deep relationships in the family-friendly entertainment media industry
- In-depth knowledge of the content offering in North American online markets
- Keen understanding of the competitive landscape for an online visual entertainment platform
- Extensive experience in digital and entertainment industries
- Strong management, communication, negotiation, presentation and relationship management skills are key as this is a high profile, widely interfacing role with media executives
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and initiate deal models, strategies, and partnership structures that optimize content acquisition and drive memberships. Initiate, structure, and complete negotiations with content partners
- Foster and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the competitive digital and entertainment landscape, and provide updates on a regular basis regarding such developments that impact SpiritClips.com strategies, operations and targets
- Work closely with the Marketing and Production, to drive membership and identify new acquisition targets
- Represent SpiritClips.com at industry events relevant to digital media content, acquisition and delivery and actively attend / participate within industry groups. (Position requires approximately 25% travel and networking time.)
- This position reports to the Founder and CEO of SpiritClips.com
Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant family-friendly, faith-based, inspirational, personal development film / video content acquisition experience in the online media industry.
- Strategic thinker with who can devise and lead on content acquisition strategy. Strong and proven track record of setting goals and delivering on targets.
- Strong and proven track record of sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and closing content partnerships. Superb dealmaker.
- In-depth knowledge of content offerings in SpiritClips.com markets and understanding of competitive landscape.
- Existing strong relationships in content area of digital and entertainment industries as well as proven ability to effectively forge strong interpersonal alliances.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to communicate and graphically depict key insights, strategies and targets
- Strategic, analytical, and original and creative thinker with problem-solving abilities to deliver valuable and state-of-the art partnerships.
- University degree is required, MBA or graduate degree preferred
- Start-up mentality in a creative environment is a plus
